Job summary

The Providence Center seeks a Substance Use Specialist for its bilingual ACT Trinity Team (CCBHC) to provide comprehensive assessments, treatment planning and counseling for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.

You will deliver crisis intervention, care coordination, and advocacy within a multidisciplinary team to ensure client-centered services. A retention bonus of $2,500 is offered for this role.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; bachelor's preferred.
• Rhode Island LCDP licensure within 1 year of hire.
• Valid driver's license, registration, current inspection sticker and insured auto.
• Bilingual preferred; language assessment must be passed within 30 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family counseling for mental health and/or substance use disorders using evidence-based practices.
• Deliver specialty substance use services and serve as a resource to staff on treatment.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and mental status exams; provide evaluations and monthly reports to external agencies.
• Develop, present and implement individualized care plans with the care team and families as appropriate.
• Advocate for clients, liaise with community agencies, and facilitate access to services.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
• Transport clients to appointments and participate in trainings and case reviews.
