Job summary

The bilingual special education teacher's primary goal is to provide instruction in Spanish to children with disabilities according to the child's Individual Education Program (IEP). The teacher develops objectives and timelines aligned to IEP goals and plans engaging instruction in a self-contained setting for K-2 and grades 3-5 for the 2026-2027 year.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois LBSI and BSPA endorsements.
• Fluent Spanish: speak, read, and write.
• Knowledge of Google Classroom applications.
• Flexible, creative, and child-centered.
• Ability to assess learning and tailor instruction.
• Ability to use data to guide instructional decisions.
• Familiar with WIDA/state standards and language, literacy, and mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and best practices.
• Prepares differentiated, engaging activities for diverse learners.
• Develops, implements, and monitors IEPs tailored to each student.
• Utilizes varied teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
• Assesses student progress with formative and summative tools.
• Communicates with families about instruction and student progress.
• Collaborates with teachers and related service providers to support student needs.
