• Ability to meet physical requirements and lift assist students as needed.
• Skill to supervise students in varied situations.
• Ability to understand and address special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated teacher in care and supervision of student with specialized needs.
• Assist in instruction, recreation, social integration, and personal hygiene tasks.
• Provide medical procedure support under the district nurse supervision.
• Monitor student to maintain a safe, positive environment.
• Escort student and support safety, social integration, and security.
• Assist in reviewing work, progress, and tests; help develop lesson plans.
• Assist in motor skill activities and in various supervision scenarios.
• Assist with paperwork required for student records and IEPs.
