Job summary

The Madison Metropolitan School District is seeking a Bilingual Special Education Assistant (SEA) at Leopold Elementary for 0.8 FTE during the 26-27 school year. The role supports students with disabilities under licensed supervision, following IEPs and district procedures.

Responsibilities include behavior support, daily living assistance, data collection, and collaboration with teachers and specialists. In-person work within MMSD is required, with bilingual English/Spanish proficiency

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 48 college credits or pass district assessment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Wisconsin DPI Special Education Program Aide License (1015) or obtain within district timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support and supervision for 4K–12 and 18–21 transition.
• Implement behavior support plans and maintain safety protocols.
• Assist with daily living tasks, mobility, and use of adaptive devices.
• Collect data and document progress per IEPs.
• Attend district functions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
