The Care Promoter 1 is an unlicensed medical professional trained to perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to ensure smooth operations at our medical centers. Responsibilities vary by setting but include clinical duties under physician supervision, aligned with state medical practice laws. Care Promoter 1 is a vital part of a Physician-led Care Team dedicated to providing excellent primary care to a specific patient population.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Measure and record patient vital signs; document patient interviews and medical histories.
  2. Communicate patient needs to the PCP, clinician, specialist, or other staff.
  3. Prepare patients for exams, perform routine screening tests, assist physicians, and explain procedures and instructions.
  4. Observe and report changes in patient conditions.
  5. Perform non-critical medical procedures, collect lab specimens, and conduct basic waived lab tests.
  6. Administer medications, change dressings, and perform first aid under physician supervision, including CPR when necessary.
  7. Maintain supplies and sterilize instruments, adhere to OSHA standards, and ensure accurate documentation.
  8. Manage patient communications, including phone messages and prescription calls, using appropriate medical terminology and ethical conduct.
  9. Provide health coaching and follow-up with patients to support healthy lifestyles.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with compassion and empathy.
  • Strong oral and written communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals.
  • Problem-solving mindset focused on patient care and team goals.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, products, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficient in phone and computer operations.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain organized systems for patient flow.
  • Calmness in busy or stressful situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software tools.
  • Willingness to travel regionally up to 10% as needed.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program or equivalent healthcare training.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role, or clinical rotation training.
  • Experience with geriatric patients is a plus.
  • Hourly pay: $19.59 - $27.98
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of employment.
Pay Range:

$16.50 - $23.56 hourly
