Job summary

Easterseals Southern California seeks an Early Head Start/Home-Based Specialist to plan, implement and supervise a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children and their families in home-based settings, with weekly visits.

The role requires an AA degree in early childhood development/education, CPR/First Aid, and the ability to travel locally up to 20%. You will recruit participants, coordinate enrollment, train families and maintain confidential records.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent in early childhood development/education or related field with minimum coursework in core areas.
• Must meet required training including CPR/First Aid and health/safety requirements.
• Ability to travel locally to homes or agreed locations for visits.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, evaluates and supervises a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children and parents in home-based settings.
• Travels weekly to each child’s home or agreed location and documents progress.
• Engages with families to promote parent-child relationships and prepare individualized education plans.
• Participates in practice-based coaching and coordinates enrollment and family partnerships.
