Job summary

Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) seeks a Workforce Development Instructor to deliver CDA Spanish instruction and support for adult learners preparing for the credential. The role focuses on culturally responsive, engaging lessons aligned with CDA standards.

The instructor will plan, deliver, assess, and monitor progress, providing guidance through the CDA preparation process and utilizing Zoom and online tools. This is a part-time, non-credit position based in Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or Education Field required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience teaching children and adults.
• Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System Certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver instructional materials and lessons in Spanish aligned with CDA competency standards and program objectives.
• Facilitate classroom instruction, discussions, and activities to develop early childhood knowledge and skills.
• Teach foundational concepts related to child development, health and safety, environments, curriculum planning, and professional practices in ECE.
• Support students in CDA credential preparation, including portfolio and competency statements.
• Provide guidance and instructional support for coursework, assignments, and program requirements.
• Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to support progress.
• Monitor attendance, participation, and progress, maintaining records.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching for diverse adult learners and language levels.
• Utilize learning management systems to support course delivery and engagement.
• Communicate course expectations, progress, and resources to students.
• Collaborate with Workforce Development staff and partners to support program objectives.
