Center for Family Life in Sunset Park is hiring a Small Business Developer (Spanish-English bilingual) to organize, support and grow worker cooperatives within low-income communities.

The role involves hands-on business management guidance, workshop facilitation, and collaboration with partners. It requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of project experience, with a strong commitment to economic empowerment and social justice.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Experience leading workshops and group discussions.

• Experience applying popular education methods for teaching adults.
• Commitment to social justice and economic empowerment, especially for low-income women.

Responsibilities

• Develop and organize cooperative business initiatives in communities.
• Provide hands-on business management support to worker cooperatives.
• Coach worker-owners to build leadership and governance skills.
• Research market trends, legal/tax issues and connect cooperatives to resources.
• Design and deliver workshops on business management topics.
• Manage projects using appropriate tools and track deliverables.
