Essential Functions
- Collaborates and advises members on finding suitable solutions for their borrowing needs through multiple access points such as in-branch, phone, and video appointments.
- Provides education and consultation to members regarding loans.
- Conducts accurate and efficient interviews with members and inputs loan applications.
- Performs credit bureau reviews for members.
- Possesses extensive knowledge of all lending products.
- Calculates lending ratios accurately.
- Ensures all lending paperwork is accurately collected and processed.
- Provides deposit solutions for members and advises on all deposit products.
- Opens various accounts including savings, checking, certificates, IRAs, and money markets.
- Serves as a primary contact for new accounts and works to build relationships with new members.
- Uses online relationship management tools to onboard new members effectively.
- Educates and assists members with other services such as debit cards, online banking, and mobile banking.
- Identifies cross-selling opportunities and makes appropriate referrals based on member needs.
- Maximizes partner relationships to deepen member relationships.
- Educates members on additional products like Payment Protection and GAP.
- Builds relationships and provides financial education, emphasizing cooperative values and excellent service.
- Meets with members to build long-term relationships through rapport-building and thoughtful questions.
- Utilizes consultative communication skills in all member interactions.
- Identifies member goals and assists in improving their financial lives.
- Participates in inbound and outbound member calling activities.
- Serves members through non-branch channels as needed.
- Balances member benefits with credit union interests in all interactions.
- Provides excellent member service and peer feedback to team members.
- Uses service recovery techniques when applicable.
- Educates members on convenience options like online and mobile banking and ATM access.
- Assists members with Personal Teller Machines (PTMs) and performs account maintenance.
- Conducts teller transactions accurately and balances daily.
Job Specifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to attain a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number.
- Fluent in both Spanish and English.
- Two years of sales or customer service experience required; one year of lending experience preferred. Higher education in finance/business/marketing may substitute experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic business math skills, including dividend, interest, payoff, equity, and certificate penalty calculations.
- Knowledge of deposit accounts and loan products.
- Ability to quickly hear, assimilate, and solve problems using a member service approach.
- Adaptability to changing responsibilities.
