Senior Universal Banker (Personal Banker)

We are currently seeking a Senior Universal Banker to work out of our Pewaukee branch.

As a Senior Universal Banker at our Pewaukee branch, you get to work with our members to help them improve their financial lives. In this role, you facilitate collaborative interactions to analyze the member's current and future financial situation. You advise members in a variety of financial situations by recommending lending and deposit products, as well as other services.

The ideal candidate will display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, and have previous lending and banking experience. You must be able to obtain an NMLS number.

Essential Functions

1. Collaborates and advises members on finding the right solutions for their borrowing needs via multiple access points such as in-branch, over the phone, and video appointments.
   1. Provides education and consultation to members on loans.
   2. Performs credit bureau reviews for members.
   3. Accurately and efficiently interview members and input loan applications.
   4. Extensive knowledge of all lending products.
   5. Calculates lending ratios accurately.
   6. Ensures all lending paperwork is accurately collected and processed.
2. Provides deposit solutions for members.
   1. Has knowledge and advises members on all deposit products.
   2. Opens savings, checking, certificates, IRAs, and money markets for members.
   3. Serves as a primary contact for new accounts and works to build relationships with all new members.
   4. Utilizes Synapsys for onboarding all new members.
   5. Educates and assists members in other services such as debit card, online banking, mobile banking, and online bill pay.
3. Identifies cross-selling opportunities through member interactions.
   1. Makes appropriate referrals based on member needs.
   2. Maximizes partner relationships (Lending Advisor, Sr. Lending Advisor, MLO, SFA) to deepen member relationships.
   3. Educates members on other products such as Payment Protection, Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP), Mechanical Repair Coverage (MRC), and Members Auto & Home Insurance Referral Program (MAH).
4. Build relationships and provide financial education through the use of cooperative values and excellent member service.
   1. Meets with members and solidifies long-term relationships through the use of rapport-building, mentor phrasing, and thoughtful questions.
   2. Consistently utilizes Consultative Communication Skills in all member interactions.
   3. Identifies members' goals and helps them improve their financial lives.
   4. Actively participates in member outbound calling activities.
   5. Balances the benefit to both the members and the credit union in all interactions.
   6. Provides excellent member service.
   7. Coaches the Member Service Teller by observing their member interactions and providing feedback on the referrals they are sending.
   8. Utilizes service recovery when applicable.
   9. Educates members about convenience service options such as online banking, mobile banking, and ATM access.

Job Specifications

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. One year as Universal Banker (preferred).
3. Have or be able to attain a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number.
4. Two years retail financial experience or working in a sales environment, previous lending experience preferred. Will consider higher education in finance/business/marketing in lieu of experience.
5. Excellent communication skills.
6. Working knowledge of basic business math, including ability to perform dividend, interest, payoff, equity, and certificate penalty calculations.
7. Working knowledge of deposit accounts and loan products.
8. Ability to hear, assimilate, and solve problems quickly, using a member service approach.
9. Ability to adapt to changing job responsibilities quickly and effectively.
