Qualifications

  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction; ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum.
  • Use instructional strategies and materials appropriate to diverse learners; reflect TEA guidelines.
  • Assess student learning and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
  • Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers; oversee completion.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  • Be a positive role model and sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and manage student behavior.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with parents, students, colleagues, and community.
