Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
• Preferred: Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum.
• Plan and deliver instruction with varied strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Assess student learning and adjust instruction based on data.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to support IEPs as needed.
• Coordinate with staff to set instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Supervise instructional aide(s) and volunteers and oversee completion.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal methods.
• Support extracurricular activities as assigned by campus administration.
• Be a positive role model and uphold district mission.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and student development.
• Manage student behavior per Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
• Protect students, equipment, and facilities through proper precautions.
• Assist in selecting books, equipment, and instructional materials.
• Maintain reports, records, and required documents.
• Establish professional relationships with parents, students, colleagues and community members.
• Participate in staff development to improve job-related skills.
• Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
• Attend meetings and participate on staff committees as required.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.
• Direct the work of instructional aides.
