Job summary

Holyoke Public Schools in Holyoke, MA seeks an Opportunity Academy School Adjustment Counselor to support the social, emotional, and academic success of OA students. You will build strong relationships with students, families, and staff to remove barriers to attendance, engagement, and credit attainment, fostering belonging and well‑being.

Responsibilities include counseling under IEP/504 guidance, collaboration with teams, and helping students plan graduation paths aligned with their plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Massachusetts licensure as a School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor; SEI endorsement preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to address social, emotional, behavioral, and personal needs that affect student participation and success.
• Support IEP/Section 504 services, monitor progress, and assist with referrals as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and administrative staff to coordinate services across OA programs.
• Facilitate student support teams and case conferences to identify needs and implement interventions.
• Develop and monitor graduation plans, ensuring alignment with student credits and graduation goals.
