Job summary

Magnum Electric Inc is seeking an experienced Safety Specialist/Coordinator, fluent in Spanish, for a project-based safety role in Center, ND. The ideal candidate has several years of proven safety management in construction and can communicate effectively with diverse project teams.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, inspections, incident investigations, training, reporting, and mentoring junior staff on best practices, with relocation to site as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in occupational safety, preferably in construction.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presenting findings.
• Analytical mindset with proven ability to conduct root cause analysis.
• Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations across all assigned projects.
• Assist with regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and direct corrective actions.
• Assist lead investigator for accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes and developing prevention strategies.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on safety performance, incident rates, trends, and recommendations to project and company leadership.
• Deliver safety training sessions and mentor junior safety staff and site coordinators on best practices.
• Serve as a point of contact with regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, or claims.
• Manage workers' compensation claims and maintain accurate, audit-ready records of incidents, training, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Review and help develop site-specific safety plans, job hazard analyses, and emergency action plans.
• Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in safety management, sharing knowledge across project teams.
