Job summary

The Bridge in Nebraska is seeking a Bilingual Rural Victim Advocate to provide crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking, including Spanish-speaking clients. The role includes outreach, information, referrals, and court advocacy to ensure access to protection orders and services.

Responsibilities include coordinating with community partners, attending trainings, maintaining records, and supporting the Executive Director in program growth

Qualifications

• Provide crisis intervention including support, safety planning, information and referrals.
• Provide enhanced advocacy as needed.
• Advocate to Spanish-speaking victims involved with the court system, aid in obtaining protection orders, accompany clients to court hearings, and offer options and referrals.
• Assist with preparing and distributing outreach materials for the Spanish-speaking population.
• Attend all required training sessions and meetings.
• Maintain files and paperwork.
• Assist the Executive Director in ongoing documentation, promotion and growth of our programs.

• Attend scheduled community meetings and staff meetings.
• Assist in providing on-call coverage of our crisis line (and one holiday per year).
• Network with professionals and leaders to raise awareness and advocate for clients while representing The Bridge in the community.
• This position reports to The Bridge Executive Director.

The Bilingual Rural Victim Advocate position is responsible for providing crisis intervention to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking including the Spanish speaking population. This position is also responsible for assisting with outreach and providing awareness materials and activities throughout the counties we serve.
