Job summary

Cardiovascular Associates of America seeks a patient-focused Lifestyle Coach to support participants in cardiometabolic clinical trials. This fully virtual role delivers structured coaching on healthy eating, activity, wellness, and sustainable change through telehealth visits.

You will work within study guidelines, document interactions, and collaborate with clinicians and research staff while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, exercise science, nutrition, public health or related field preferred.
• Experience in health coaching, wellness, weight management or behavior-change programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills for virtual patient rapport.
• Willingness to learn clinical trial protocols and documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled virtual lifestyle coaching visits with clinical trial participants.
• Provide protocol-directed education on healthy eating, activity, wellness and behavior change.
• Help participants set realistic lifestyle goals and identify barriers.
• Develop practical strategies to support healthier habits and engagement.
• Discuss progress, successes, challenges, and barriers during follow-ups.
• Use motivational interviewing to encourage ongoing engagement and change.
• Reinforce balanced food choices, portion awareness, meal planning, hydration and sleep.
• Document interactions promptly in the electronic system of record.
• Complete required study assessments and documentation.
• Escalate questions outside scope to clinical research team as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, coordinators and research staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and GCP requirements.
