Job Title: Bilingual Receptionist
Location: Dallas, Texas 75235
Duration: 6 Months Contract

Shift: The hours are Monday - Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.

Job Description:

Bilingual individual with previous experience in a fast-paced medical office with the ability to manage high call volumes. Individual must be able to address the needs of internal/external customers in a professional manner. Candidate must be dependable and able to operate certain technical appliances such as telephone, computer, fax, and additional software programs systems (Microsoft Outlook) which are used on the job. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, individual must be able to listen to instructions and relay the information via messaging systems. The position requires someone who is self-directed, with good time-management skills. This individual must be able to deal with different kinds of people on a daily basis, some of whom may prove difficult, requiring someone who can keep calm in the face of pressing situations.


This job is responsible for answering all incoming telephone calls to the department by establishing priority of calls according to the need and importance of the calls.


Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Answer, screen and direct incoming telephone calls to the department.
  2. Take thorough messages and establish appropriate priorities of calls.
  3. Place calls and pages as directed by physicians and staff members.
  4. Receive and distribute incoming mail.
  5. Other duties and special projects as required by the department.

III. Internal & External Interaction:
  1. Daily contact with staff to schedule patient appointments.
  2. Daily contact with external physicians to facilitate interaction with internal staff.
  3. Daily contact with patients/families to facilitate interaction with internal staff.
  4. Weekly contact with Admitting staff to coordinate bed assignments.

IV. Working Conditions:
  1. Routine office environment.
  2. Requires considerable confined sitting with limited freedom to move about except when relieved.
  3. Requires visual and mental concentration on instruments, dials, readouts, displays and work activities.

V. Fiscal Responsibility:

This job facilitates cost containment through the accurate and efficient completion of assigned duties and responsibilities.


VI. Patient Groups Served:

This job is not responsible for providing direct patient care.


Skills Required / Desired:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  2. Previous experience operating a multi-line telephone - Required (1 Year)
  3. Knowledge of medical terminology - Desired
  4. General office skills of typing, filing, collating - Highly desired
  5. The ability to hear and communicate with others in a clear, understandable manner - Required
  6. The ability to interact effectively with peers, technical and nursing staff - Required
  7. The ability to recognize and respond to medical priorities - Required
  8. Bilingual - English/Spanish - Required
