Job summary

Las Vegas Valley Water District is seeking a Public Outreach Specialist in Las Vegas to plan and coordinate outreach programs and events, representing the district with community partners. The role requires bilingual Spanish proficiency and experience in marketing, communications and outreach.

The ideal candidate will translate Spanish-language content, manage multiple projects, support media relations, and collaborate with internal teams, consultants and agency partners to implement campaigns

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish language proficiency and experience supporting marketing, communications, and community outreach programs.
• Demonstrated experience developing and translating Spanish-language content, coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, and delivering high-quality written and verbal communications.
• Experience supporting media relations, conducting interviews, and engaging with Spanish-language media outlets is highly desirable.
• Support Hispanic and general market marketing, media relations, community outreach, and public education initiatives through effective project coordination, content development, translation services, and community engagement efforts.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and implement logistical arrangements for programs, events and large meetings hosted by LVVWD/SNWA/Preserve; liaise with partners, vendors and sponsors; arrange staffing and volunteers; ensure permit compliance and budget alignment.
• Represent the organization at events and public meetings; respond to information requests and questions; build relationships with managers, vendors and sponsors.
• Draft outreach materials, presentations and online communications; develop campaigns and strategies to promote water conservation partnerships; participate in community outreach activities.
• Assist with customer notifications and distribution of communications to targeted stakeholders and organizations.
