King County’s Public Health Nursing department seeks two Public Health Nurses for the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) program in Downtown Seattle. The role includes home/community visits from pregnancy through the child’s second birthday, supervising 25 families, and collaborating in weekly team meetings and reflective sessions.

Two vacancies exist; one is open to all qualified nurses and the second requires bilingual Spanish/English capabilities.

Competenze

Bachelor's degree in nursing or an MSN/DNP/PhD from an accredited nursing school.
Current Washington State RN license (or multi-state) required.
Documentation of BLS-CPR for Health Care Providers (CPR/AED HeartSaver does not meet).
Washington state driver's license.
Pass background and credentialing.

Mansioni

Obtain and document health history and make nursing diagnoses based on nursing assessment.
Documentation requires electronic charting: EPIC, and in an NFP database.
Provide expertise regarding public health nursing scope, practice and policy at many levels.
Link clients to other Health Department staff and community providers to assure access and continuity of care.
Program planning, monitoring local work plans and progress toward program goals.
Participate in quality assurance activities to meet laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Provide training, orientation and education to staff, clients, students and the community.
Provide birth control and pregnancy options counseling to clients as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
