Job summary

Chedraui USA is seeking a Utilities Clerk for the Houston area (ages 16-17). You will assist in store maintenance, help customers, bag groceries, and support safety and cleanliness throughout the store.

This entry-level role requires bilingual Spanish/English ability, basic PC skills, and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally. Previous retail experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish and English; interacts with the public and coworkers.
• Reads and comprehends simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short memos.
• Writes simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers and coworkers.
• Applies common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Maintain ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills (extra credit).
• Retail Management Certificate (extra credit).

Responsibilities

• Assist in proper maintenance of the store, particularly in the Produce Department.
• Assist customers on the store floor as needed.
• Properly bag groceries for customers when required.
• Carry out groceries for customers if requested.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety at all times.
• Retrieve and maintain store carts.
• Run price checks.
• Assist with go‑backs and check stand upkeep.
• Remove waste from the parking area.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 60 pounds as necessary.
