Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a seasoned User Operations specialist to help customers adopt AI and maximize value from our platform. You will troubleshoot complex issues, script automation, and collaborate with Engineering and Product to scale support efficiently.

Based in Tokyo with a hybrid model (3 days in office) and relocation assistance, the role requires full bilingual proficiency in Korean and English. Your resume should be in English, with interviews conducted in both languages.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Korean and English (spoken and written).
• 8+ years in User Operations, Engineering, Support Engineering or similar technical roles.
• Comfort with using emerging technologies (e.g., Codex, ChatGPT, OpenAI API) to script or engineer code for automation.
• Expert-level SaaS troubleshooting and rapid understanding of new tech.
• Polished enterprise communication and ability to stay calm with high-stakes customers.
• Experience building strong customer and cross-functional relationships.
• Exceptional critical thinker who clearly communicates complex issues to diverse audiences.
• Thrives in ambiguity, adaptable, eager to learn and grow.
• Humble, team-first mindset and willingness to help teammates and customers.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues for customers, including API failures and production incidents, with end-to-end ownership.
• Become a trusted expert on OpenAI products, serving as a go-to resource for complex problems.
• Act as a key escalation point, collaborating with customers and Engineering to prevent recurring issues and automate workflows.
• Contribute learnings to scale solutions with Product and Go-To-Market teams.
• Identify opportunities for automation and AI-powered workflows to improve efficiency and customer experience.
• Provide on-call holiday and weekend support as needed.
