Job summary

Robert Hadley Associates in Bronx, NY seeks an experienced Workers’ Compensation Attorney to represent injured plaintiffs from intake to resolution. You will appear before the Workers’ Compensation Board, negotiate with carriers, and develop strategies to maximize benefits for clients.

Spanish fluency is required to serve a substantial Spanish-speaking client base. The ideal candidate will handle a substantial plaintiff-side caseload, possess strong hearing and negotiation skills, and work well

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA accredited law school is required.
• Admission to the New York Bar in good standing.
• Significant plaintiff-side Workers’ Compensation experience in New York.
• Ability to independently manage a substantial caseload.
• Strong hearing, negotiation, legal writing, and advocacy skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and client-management abilities.
• Strong knowledge of New York Workers’ Compensation law and board procedures.
• Trial/hearing experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of plaintiff-side New York Workers’ Compensation matters from inception through resolution.
• Represent injured workers at Workers’ Compensation Board hearings and conferences.
• Prepare and present cases involving workplace injuries, occupational illnesses, permanency, schedule loss of use, medical treatment, and lost wages.
• Review medical records and evaluate the impact of injuries on clients’ ability to work.
• Negotiate with insurance carriers and defense counsel regarding benefits and case resolution.
• Develop case strategy and advise clients regarding their rights and available benefits.
• Communicate regularly with clients and provide clear, compassionate legal guidance.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, applications, appeals, and other necessary legal documents.
• Collaborate with support staff and medical professionals to develop strong cases.
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure all deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
