Job summary

Avita Pharmacy in Los Angeles, CA is hiring a Bilingual Pharmacy Technician to support Pharmacists with preparing and dispensing prescribed medications and providing patient care.

This full-time role requires CA license, English proficiency, and Spanish bilingual ability; schedule is Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm or 11am-8pm, with every other Sat 9am-5pm. PTCB preferred; 1+ year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Associate’s or higher in healthcare is a plus.
• Active and good standing CA Pharmacy Technician License.
• National Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB) preferred.
• 1+ year of related pharmacy experience preferred.
• Proficient in English; bilingual in Spanish required.
• Strong typing and data entry skills.
• Reliable commute to the pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Remove drug(s) from stock; count, pour, or mix pharmaceuticals.
• Place the product into a container and affix labels.
• Package/repackage as needed and enter prescription information.
• Verify insurance benefits and resolve issues with empathy.
• Interact with patients and team members professionally.
• Handle calls to patients, case managers, providers, insurers.
• Write routine reports and reconcile transactions at POS.
• Coordinate deliveries and ensure timely service.
• Solve problems and support process improvements.
• Perform related duties and embody company values.

Job description

The Bilingual Pharmacy Technician will support and assist Pharmacists with preparing and dispensing prescribed medications and providing patient care and education.

This is a full-time position based in Los Angeles, CA (522 S. San Pedro St.).

***The work schedule is Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:30pm OR 11am-8pm, AND every other Sat. 9am-5pm.***

About the Role:

• Remove drug(s) from stock; count, pour, or mix pharmaceuticals
• Place the product into a container
• Affix the label or labels to the container
• Package/repackage as needed
• Type prescription label(s) or enter prescription information into our digital record system with precision
• Verify/re-verify insurance benefits and resolve issues with empathy and efficiency
• Interact courteously with patients and team members to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships
• Answer incoming and make outbound calls to patients, case managers, providers, insurance companies, etc.
• Clearly write routine reports and correspondence
• Handle payments and reconcile transactions at the Point of Sale (POS) beginning and end-of-day
• Coordinate prescription deliveries and ensure timely service
• Solve problems proactively and contribute to process improvements
• Perform additional related duties as assigned

About You:

• High school diploma or GED (Associate’s or higher in healthcare is a plus!)
• Must have an active and good standing Pharmacy Technician License in the State of CA
• National Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB) preferred
• 1+ year of related pharmacy experience preferred (fast learners welcomed!)
• Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bilingual in Spanish required
• Strong typing and data entry skills
• A positive attitude, great phone etiquette, and a patient-first mindset
• A reliable way to get to the pharmacy

Pay range: $20- $25 per hour, based on credentials and geographic location.
