Job summary

Avita Care Solutions in California is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacist with entering prescription orders, billing insurance, and handling claims in central fill and retail settings. The role is full-time and based in Brea, CA, with a Mon–Fri schedule from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

The position requires typing accuracy, a CA Pharmacy Technician License, 1+ year of pharmacy experience, and proficiency in English; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in healthcare preferred.
• Active Pharmacy Technician License in CA required.
• 1+ year of pharmacy experience; PTCB/NHA certification preferred.

Job description

The Pharmacy Technician will assist the Pharmacist with typing/inputting new prescription drug orders for prescribed medications in a central fill and retail pharmacy environment. This includes billing insurance and working through insurance claims/rejections.

This is a full-time position that is based in (3020 Saturn St.) Brea, CA and the work schedule is Mon. through Fri. 8:30a. to 5:00pm.

This is the ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional typing and data entry skills, ensuring a high level of accuracy.

About the Role:

• Remove drug(s) from stock; count, pour, or mix pha rmaceuticals
• Place the product into a container
• Affix the label or labels to the container
• Package/repackage as needed
• Type prescription label(s) or enter prescription information into a computer record system
• Verify/re-verify insurance benefits
• Interact courteously with patients and team members to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships
• Answer incoming and make outbound calls to patients, case managers, providers, insurance companies, etc.
• Clearly write routine reports and correspondence
• Handle payment transactions at Point of Service (POS) and reconcile beginning and end-of-day transactions
• Coordinate prescription deliveries
• Proactively identify and analyze problems and provide effective solutions
• Embrace and perform in the spirit of the company’s core values and goals

About You:

• High school diploma or GED; Associate\'s degree or higher preferred, especially in a related healthcare field
• Must have an active and good standing Pharmacy Technician License in the State of CA
• One or more years of related pharmacy experience
• National Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or NHA) preferred
• Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Strong MS Office computer skills
• Exceptional and accurate data entry skills are essential
• Experience with insurance/third parties including working through rejections and calling insurance for rejections/member eligibility details
• Experience with pharmacy software such as PioneerRx, QSI, etc. preferred
• Must have a positive attitude, be energetic and flexible, have excellent phone etiquette, and provide exceptional customer service

Pay range: $20- $28 per hour, based on credentials and geographic location.
