Job summary

HOPE Clinic is seeking a Patient Support Specialist to facilitate patient flow, register new patients, and update demographics while maintaining HIPAA-compliant handling of information. The role supports the medical records team and acts as a liaison for scheduling and insurance eligibility.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED (associate degree preferred) and at least one year of health care or patient services experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year in health education, patient navigation, and/or health clinic patient assistance field.
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and confidentiality.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients with registration and eligibility.
• Check in/out patients using electronic medical records.
• Scan medical records into the system.
• Fax/mail out medical records and necessary forms according to HIPAA/Clinic guidelines.
• Submit and document forms and medical records in a timely manner.
• Assist with scheduling and inquiries.
