Job summary

Baltimore County is seeking a temporary Bilingual Spanish/English Park Ranger for the Department of Recreation and Parks in Towson, MD. This 34-hour-per-week, one-year position will lead daily park operations and provide bilingual visitor assistance and education.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least one year of experience in park management or recreation. A master’s degree can substitute for one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field such as park operations, recreation, education, business administration, forestry, social sciences, history, or natural resources.
• One year of experience in forest or park management, recreation, or related fields, or in roles interpreting natural, historical, cultural, or recreational features.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operation and maintenance of the assigned facility.
• Provides bilingual orientation and customer service information to visitors in English and Spanish.
• Supervises, trains, and leads recreation and park staff; develops work schedules.
• Assists in planning, organizing, and conducting diverse nature and recreation programs.
