Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Houston to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and respond to donor safety events under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion.
• Experience reviewing laboratory test results and donor suitability in a plasma/blood collection setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, medical history interview, physicals and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and assist with medical emergencies following SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents per EHS guidance and determine need for further evaluation.
