Job summary

Hayward Unified School District seeks a bilingual instructional assistant to reinforce instruction for limited English proficient students and translate materials as needed. The role includes clerical support, test administration, and helping teachers prepare instructional resources.

You will assist with classroom setup, student records, and translating during conferences, ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Requires 48 college semester units or an AA degree under NCLB.
• Ability to assist with bilingual instruction and translation.
• Experience working with diverse cultures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students and reinforce instruction for language, reading, and math.
• Translate notes, letters and materials between English and a designated language.
• Assist with instructional materials preparation and clerical duties.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain student records and files.
• Assist with bus loading/unloading and campus navigation for students.
