Job summary

Monterey County Office of Education seeks a dedicated Bilingual Paraeducator (Gabilan) to assist teachers in special education and general classrooms. This role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication and adherence to ESSA education standards.

Position is internal only for current MCSE employees. Pay ranges from $25.55 to $32.99 per hour; full-time with 6.5 hours/day, 183 days/year; Mara MCOE bilingual testing and certifications are required within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience as required by the ESSA: HS diploma or equivalent and 48 sem. units or an AA or higher.
• First Aid and health precautions knowledge essential.
• Bilingual Spanish proficiency demonstrated and tested by MCOE tests.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in instructional activities for students in special education and mainstream classes.
• Assist with reading, writing, and mathematics instruction as needed.
• Maintain safety, health, and classroom procedures per program requirements.
