Job summary

Highline Public Schools is seeking a Bilingual Paraeducator (Spanish) to support English language learners at Hazel Valley Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on tutoring and language development in the student’s native language, and collaboration with teachers.

The paraeducator will also interpret for families, help engage the bilingual community, and contribute to a welcoming climate across schools.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual and group academic tutoring support to ELL qualified students in their native language.
• Collaborates with teachers on meeting individual students' English development needs.
• Serves as a liaison between the school and students' family; provides interpretation services for non-English speaking families and school staff.
• Leads and develops family engagement activities for the bilingual community.
• Works with schools and families to develop a welcoming climate in the schools.
