Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a multilingual paraeducator to provide instructional support for English Development and content-area classes under teacher guidance. The role emphasizes bilingual communication with students, parents, and staff, and confidentiality in handling student information.

Preferred qualifications include an Associate degree or 72 credits or ParaPro, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong commitment to teamwork and customer-service oriented care.

Qualifications

• Fluent in reading/writing/speaking English and Spanish.
• Associate degree or 72 quarter credits or have passed the ETS ParaPro Assessment.
• Experience with technology and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with instructional activities for English Development and core subjects.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement best practices for multilingual learners.
• Visit multilingual and core classrooms to discuss strategies with teachers.
• Plan and run district/school family events to strengthen relationships.
• Assist families in helping students succeed and communicate with families and staff.
• Translate documents, set up meetings, and support communication between school and community.
