Job summary

Bento Inc. is seeking a Bilingual Overnight Food Manufacturing / Industrial Maintenance Supervisor for our Chicago facility. You will lead a maintenance team in a 7:00 pm–3:30 am shift, one weekend day, ensuring equipment reliability and safe operations in a fast-paced food-processing environment.

You will supervise daily activities, manage preventive maintenance, read schematics, and perform welding and repairs as needed, while upholding GMP and safety standards in a diverse team setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• 5+ years in industrial maintenance with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience in food processing or similar environments is highly desirable.
• Proficient in CMMS and strong safety compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities for the team, ensuring uptime and productivity.
• Oversee preventive maintenance tasks and ensure quality and safety in all work.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and structural issues across equipment and facility systems.
• Monitor work orders, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely completion of repairs and projects.
• Collaborate with production to address equipment performance and implement improvements.
• Oversee inventory of spare parts and maintain accurate service logs.
• Ensure GMP and food safety compliance and adherence to company policies.
• Read schematics and blueprints to support repairs and installations.
• Perform TIG welding for equipment repairs and fabrication as required.

• Chicago Food Factory - 2136 South Peoria Street Chicago, IL 60608 | 7:00 pm to 3:30 am, One weekend day working.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead the maintenance team and oversee the upkeep of our facilities and equipment. The role involves supervising maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, and managing a team in a fast-paced food-processing environment. It requires strong technical expertise, effective leadership skills, and a commitment to workplace safety, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.

• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities for the team, ensuring optimal productivity and minimal downtime.
• Supervise and execute preventive maintenance tasks and ensure work has been done correctly and safely.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and structural issues with machinery and facility systemsincluding electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC.
• Monitor work orders, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance projects.
• Collaborate with the production team to address equipment performance issues and recommend improvements.
• Oversee inventory of spare parts and supplies to maintain smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Repair and replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Perform TIG welding for equipment repairs, fabrication, and maintenance as required.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots of electrical and mechanical failure.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to support equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and installations.
• Perform facility maintenance, including plumbing, patching walls, electrical repairs, etc.
• Maintain accurate record of mechanical activities, including work orders, parts inventory, and service logs.
• Follow GMP and Food Safety and comply with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience working in industries such as food processing, or similar environments is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent people skills, know how to de-escalate tense moments.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• SQF maintenance knowledge is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish required.
