Job summary

Responsibilities

• Make newcomer non-English speaking students feel comfortable in the new school environment.
• Translate for the teacher when needed and explain classroom rules/policies to students and parents.
• Facilitate conversations between the classroom teacher and parents to support understanding of school procedures.
• Help the new student navigate the school system and access available resources.
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality when working with district personnel and the public.
