Job summary

America’s Best in Tampa, FL is seeking an optometric technician to support eye care teams with efficient patient flow and pre-test screening before the Doctor's examination.

You'll conduct preliminary tests, review patient information, explain procedures, and help maintain a professional in-office environment. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred; retail experience helpful. Sundays are closed. We offer training, competitive pay, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (reading and speaking) required or preferred.
• Retail/optical experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge.
• Able to give clear and concise instructions to customers.
• Effective interpersonal skills and professional appearance.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere in the doctor’s office and pre-test area.
• Explain ocular terminology and preliminary examination types to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing prior to the Doctor’s examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
• Review prescriptions and patient information; consult with staff as needed.
• Ensure equipment in both Doctor’s and pre-test areas is properly maintained.
