This entry-level position performs loan counseling and collections activities, with potential escalation to higher-level staff for workout details.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Less than one year collections or loan servicing experience.
• Experience in Banking, Mortgage/Loan Servicing preferred.
• Knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
• Strong verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Explain mortgage loan options and modifications to borrowers.
• Evaluate borrower's ability to pay and collect financial information.
• Counsel borrowers on alternatives such as loan modifications and refinancing.
• Contact borrowers via automated and manual calls.
• Provide loan assistance options and assemble required documents.
• May be single point of contact or escalate to Loss Mitigation.
• Provide status on payments and respond to escrow inquiries.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
