Job summary

J. Thomas Property Services is seeking a bilingual Building Engineer (English/Spanish) to travel between commercial properties in the DC metro area, covering Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties.

You will troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems while documenting work on mobile devices. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, with 2+ years in commercial maintenance and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
• 2+ years in commercial maintenance.
• Clean driving record is non-negotiable.
• Smartphone proficient with email, work order apps, and navigation.
• Available for on-call rotation (2 weeks on, then rotating break).

Responsibilities

• Travel between assigned properties to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
• Document work, log time and labor in the work order system.
• Coordinate with vendors and property managers as needed.
• Identify parts and source from distributors; avoid new installations.
