Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Escondido is seeking a Medical Office Assistant II to support clinical operations under supervision. You will assist with patient exams, manage routine care, and handle patient education and communications.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish proficiency (Level II), sterile technique knowledge, CPR, and the ability to work with diverse patients. This is a full-time on-site position at the North County Primary Care locations.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Office Assistant program with Certification and six months of related experience or twelve months equivalent experience in lieu of certification.
• If Pediatrics, requires a minimum of one year pediatric or equivalent experience.
• Ability to give and follow oral and written instructions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sterile techniques.
• Valid CPR; bilingual (English/Spanish) Level II required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine patient care under supervision of RN or provider.
• Assists with patient exams and procedures and educates members and families.
• Responds to member telephone messages.
• Transports patients as needed.
• Prepares treatment rooms and assembles instruments for procedures.
• Assists licensed providers during examinations and minor procedures.
• Ensures patient safety during procedures and transport.
• Completes diagnostic test forms and relays medical information between physician and patient.
• Documents in patient medical records and collects specimens for testing.
