Job summary

Julio's Mexican Food is seeking capable prep cooks to ensure all menu items are ready for buffet or a la carte service per recipes and safety standards in Texas. You will maintain knowledge of recipes, manage ingredients, and coordinate with line cooks to have product ready for service.

The role requires at least 1 year of Mexican cooking experience, a Texas Food Handler card, and the ability to work under pressure while upholding hygiene and organization in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have at least one year’s experience cooking Mexican Food.
• Must have a current Texas Food Handler card.
• Must have knowledge of kitchen equipment handling procedures.
• Must know the ingredients and methods of preparation of all items served at Julio's.
• Must be able to understand and carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Show up ready for work in full uniform at the scheduled time.
• Maintain personal appearance according to grooming standards.
• Follow safe and sanitary food handling procedures.
• Prepare, portion and package raw foods for service, following recipes and procedures.
• Responsible for yields and correct use of ingredients.
• Coordinate with line cooks to ensure enough product is ready for service.
• Maintain inventory of prepared foods and communicate needs to management.
• Clean workstation and equipment at end of shift.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and storage areas.
