Job summary

St. Jude Neighborhood Health Center in Orange, CA is seeking an outstanding Medical Receptionist to join our outpatient clinics.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication and proficiency with EPIC EMR, with duties across patient registration, scheduling, and front-desk operations. The position offers full-time hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, with the unique responsibility of driving the Mobile Unit (RV) at least once per week.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• One or more years of experience as a receptionist in outpatient healthcare preferred.
• Experience with computers and automated scheduling is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare insurance is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, register demographics and insurance information, and update forms as needed.
• Review provider schedules and pre-register new patients with packets and history forms.
• Schedule visits with accurate ICD-10 codes and manage changes, wait lists, and reschedules.
• Answer phone calls, route messages, and handle prescription refill requests per procedures.
• Process check-out, review charges, collect copays and payments, and balance cash drawer.
• Assist with referrals, medical records requests, and scanning documents.
