Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Medical Interpreter to support Limited English Proficiency patients, families, and staff across IU Health Methodist, University, and Riley Children's Hospitals. The role provides interpretation under the direction of the clinical nurse and acts as a liaison to ensure clear communication and culturally appropriate care.

Bachelor's degree is preferred and a Medical Interpreter Certification is encouraged when available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Medical Interpreter Certification when available.
• Fluency in verbal and written English and a target language.
• Knowledge of medical terminology in both languages.
• Experience interpreting in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation to LEP patients, families, and staff.
• Serve as liaison between clinical staff and patients.
• Support care team under direction of the clinical nurse.
• Ensure care reflects IU Health values.
