Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English with accurate interpretation.
• Qualified interpreter credentials required.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm in sensitive, urgent, or complex situations.
• Strong understanding of patient service standards, confidentiality, and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate oral and written interpretation for medical, billing, insurance, and care-related conversations.
• Respond to interpreter requests across departments for patient appointments and healthcare services.
• Accompany patients during visits to assess and support understanding of medical information.
• Translate typed and handwritten materials between languages.
• Document interpretation activities according to hospital standards.
• Participate in training, meetings, and assist with special projects and assigned duties.
• Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
