Job summary

Care New England is seeking a Medical Interpreter to support patients, providers, and staff by relaying information between languages and ensuring patient confidentiality and informed consent. The role acts as a linguistic and cultural resource while facilitating clear communication across clinical settings.

Under the direction of the Director of Patient Experience, the interpreter will explain hospital resources and procedures, support continuity of care, and protect patient dignity.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent with an approved certification in medical translation.
• Must demonstrate proficiency as a medical interpreter in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate accurate verbal communication between patients and clinicians across languages.
• Explain hospital resources, procedures, protocols, and patient care plans.
• Protect patient confidentiality and support informed consent and dignity in every interaction.
• Travel between locations as needed and participate in education to improve professional skills.
