Job summary

Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is seeking an interpreter to facilitate patient and family communication across languages. You will handle interpretation requests, coordinate with qualified auxiliary interpreters, and provide sight and written translations of materials such as pre-operative and post-operative instructions and education.

The role requires a High School Diploma, healthcare interpreting experience, and the ability to work onsite at 243-245 Charles Street with a Monday–Wednesday

Qualifications

• Healthcare interpreting experience preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to interpret across languages and convey nuanced medical information.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate delivery of services to patients and families across languages.
• Coordinate with qualified interpreters for requests and emergencies.
• Provide sight and written translations of patient information and education materials.
• Assist with appointment reminders, rescheduling, and scheduling interpreters as needed.
• Help LEP patients navigate the hospital and understand forms and departments.
