Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Spoken Language Interpreter to facilitate health-related communication between providers and LEP patients. The role ensures care is understandable, respectful, and culturally aligned with patients' health beliefs and languages.

Preferred candidates have 1 year of medical interpretation experience, bilingual proficiency, and completion of a 40-hour training in medical terminology and interpretation within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Completion of a 40-hour medical interpreter training program required within 6 months of hire, with preference for 100-hour training preferred.
• Experience: 1 year experience in medical interpretation preferred; related experience in medical or social services fields is preferred.
