Saint Anthony Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant (Registered), bilingual in English and Spanish, for a full-time role across 22 specialties and 66 providers. Shifts run from 7:30am to 6:00pm and compensation ranges from $19.50 to $26.00 per hour.

The role supports clinical care, immunizations, POCT, EKGs, patient education, and admin duties, with competitive benefits including health insurance and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• CPR Card Required.
• Excellent documentation skills (grammar, spelling, punctuation).
• Bilingual English/Spanish – preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• 1-3 years related experience in a doctor's office preferred.
• Office administrative skills with knowledge of billing procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Takes patients’ vital signs and prepares them for examinations.
• Performs initial interviews with new patients and collects medical history.
• Assists providers with examinations and procedures; obtains consent as needed.
• Keeps immunization inventory and orders vaccines.
• Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures.
• Monitors and restocks supplies; notifies if equipment malfunctions.
• Performs Point of Care Testing (POCT) and EKGs.
• Administers immunizations and records appropriately.
• Educates patients on ongoing healthcare and follow-ups.
• Works with a multidisciplinary team on treatment plans.
• Screens calls for referrals to nurses or physicians.
• Follows prescription refill procedures.
• Performs administrative duties such as assisting with school/sports physicals.
