Job summary

Esperanza Health Centers in Chicago is seeking a Medical Assistant (Full-Time) to support clinical operations and patient care at 3059 W. 26th Street.

The MA will take vital signs, assist with exams, perform phlebotomy and EKGs, administer immunizations, and help with front-desk tasks as needed. The ideal candidate has 1+ year clinical experience, is bilingual in English/Spanish, and holds a Medical Assistant credential; CPR and phlebotomy certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual English and Spanish proficiency.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Take patients’ vital signs, prepare for examinations, and provide instructions.
• Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and obtain consent as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy, POCT, and EKGs per standards.
• Administer immunizations and document in the medical record.
• Coordinate with care team and communicate lab results to patients.
