Job description

Job Summary: Bilingual Medical Assistant & Receptionist (English/Spanish) (Polish/Russian) will play a vital role in collaborating with a team of doctors and nurse practitioners to support clinical staff and ensure efficient clinic operations. Responsibilities include accurately documenting patient information, assisting with patient inquiries, managing medical records, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The goal is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist clinicians in translating for Spanish-speaking patients, prepare patient IVs, perform EKGs, document medical history and vital signs.
  2. Maintain the exam room between patient use to ensure cleanliness for the next patient.
  3. Demonstrate exceptional phone communication skills, conveying empathy and professionalism in all patient interactions, and delegate tasks as needed.
  4. Conduct outbound calls to patients, schedule appointments (in-office and telehealth), provide instructions, gather information, and address concerns.
  5. Verify patient insurance coverage and review prior authorization requirements.
  6. Ensure strict adherence to healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and uphold the organization's code of conduct.
Skills
  1. Proven experience as a bilingual medical assistant & receptionist (English/Spanish).
  2. Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
  3. Excellent time management, detail orientation, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  4. Social perceptiveness and service orientation.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Strong organizational and planning skills.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software.
  8. Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  9. BLS Certification (Preferred).
  10. Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred).
Experience

Minimum 1 year experience preferred; entry-level candidates will also be considered.

Schedule & Location
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week.
  • Location: Brooklyn, NY 11210.
  • In-person work required.
