Job summary

CenterWell Senior Primary Care in Houston, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant who will be the first contact for patient care, handling administrative tasks and direct clinical support onsite.

You will perform pre-visit planning, record medical history and vitals, room patients, assist with procedures, collect specimens, administer medications under provider direction, and document in EHR/EMR to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• Active CMA or RMA certification from AAH, AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, or NHA.
• Successful MA school/training program or CMA/RMA certification or 5+ years of experience with provider approval.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of MA experience.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Medication/vaccine administration experience.
• CPR Certified.
• TB screening required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type.
• Obtain and record medical history and vital signs.
• Room patients and assist healthcare providers with procedures and treatments.
• Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Prepare and administer medication under the direction of the healthcare provider.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the EHR/EMR systems, including HEDIS/Stars documentation.
