Job summary

El Rio Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our clinical team in Arizona. The MA will provide direct patient care and support both clinical and non-clinical tasks within the scope of practice, at a clinic assigned by management.

The role requires a Medical Assistant Certificate, BLS certification, and a Level One fingerprint clearance card. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, with at least a year of ambulatory experience desired.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Level One fingerprint clearance card (or apply within 7 days of start).
• Reliable transportation may be required for operational reassignment.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care and supports clinical operations per El Rio Health policies.
• Completes patient intake steps and documents information in the EHR.
• Assists with procedures and coordinates outside records, labs, and imaging.
• Maintains HIPAA confidentiality and adheres to safety and compliance policies.
• Keeps EHR documentation current and reports safety hazards to supervision.
