Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card is required or must be obtained within 7 working days of starting.
• A valid driver's license may be required for operational reassignments.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care and supports clinical operations within El Rio Health policies.
• Completes patient intake steps and documents information in the EHR.
• Assists with procedures and activities within the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• Coordinates and retrieves outside medical records, lab, and radiology results.
• Ensures discharge instructions are understood and documented in the EHR.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and compliant clinical environment.
• Keeps accurate records and adheres to safety, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards.
